Coronavirus Update March 25

March 25, 2020 Coronavirus Update

As of today, 15 Knoxville residents have tested positive for COVID-19. Statistically, they transmitted the virus to 4 other individuals prior to knowing that they were infected. Hence, SOCIAL DISTANCING is critical. Please follow the distancing guidelines to keep yourself and others safe.

Thankfully, Tennessee was a little later in the wave and we appear to be taking the threat seriously. We are already seeing volunteers helping to make masks and gowns for medical personal. One local business, Logo Solutions has placed its production of t-shirts and athletic apparel on hold and is currently making medical masks. Also, local seamstresses are taking up their needles to help make PPE (personal protective equipment). Our community is coming together!

We aren’t out of the woods yet. We still have 1-2 months of hunkering down and washing our hands. If you’ve read my posts, I have provided lists of supplements and food choices that are known to boost your immune system. Stress is a great immunosuppressant and in the time of social distancing and closed gyms, we need to mindfully keep this type of stress low. Therefore, keep yourselves entertained and physically active! There are plenty of online free entertainment/dance/yoga/art/wellness classes available. Gyms are waving their membership fees while boors are closed; this might allow you to join online memberships offering wide ranges of workouts. There are many other options including online storytelling and people that are available to just talk.
